Hanoi Part 3
“Paitience is not simply the ability to wait -it’s how we behave while we’re waiting”
Joyce Meyer
Due to the Sapa journey being cancelled I had 4 days more in Hanoi to wait for my friend from Melbourne to arrive. There were 2 others from the cruise staying in Hanoi I said I’d go for meals and shopping but I couldn’t go sightseeing. I had a sore throat so maybe the slower pace will help heal it.
I went to a roof top bar memories of Hong Kong the air was still very warm and dry the sky was clear great views and food was yummy and cheap
Walked around the old quarter trying to find a coffee shop I’d visited previously it no luck it it’s not difficult to find coffee in Hanoi and the majority of times it’s good. they do cappuccino better than latte and the prices is very easy on the wallet
The group of us from the cruise did a jeep night food tour this was lots of fun visiting some of the site at night they look very different and seeing some new however the heavens open up a couple of times but thank goodness for rain coats
The first photo is the jeep we were in. The other is a bridge built by the French the in the 1930 during the war the Americans tried to bomb it 14 times without success there is a train line I. The middle. This was peak hour traffic Friday night
We also visited Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum at time very different to the day time she. Through the French quarter which now houses ma y government departments
The highlight of the tour was going to train street. This is the narrow gauge line for trains between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh they run all day and night the cafes are so close to the line you really need to breath in.
