At last let’s go
“You’ve got to be very careful if you don’t know where you are going, because you might not get get there”
Yogi Berra
Today the journey started. The drive to Ha Long Bay was about 2 hours plus a nature stop. As we drove out you could see the damage Yagi had done but the journey was with out incident. As you go closer to the port where we were to board Pandaw Angkor you saw many roofs of houses and factories collapsed the rain didn’t stop the hair was curly very curly. Finally the boat would be seen through the rain time to board
A welcome drink and bags sent to cabin ….. at last
It was now to be a 9 day journey along the Red river with a 4 day journey by car and train to Sapa to meet a friend in Hanoi
Stepping back on the boat brought back memories of India the boat was newer and once in the cabin many improve, ents, Ness
Ros coffee machine, fridge with beverages and the power outlets had been improved. Light u packing but returned so we could have lu ch before settling sail.
After lunch a briefing where we were told we would not cruising Ha Long Bay due rescues nearby the government ordered us to move directly to the Red River. as you can see the photos show how sad this beautiful bay was and eerie as no major groups of tourist we were only a group of 12
I’ve included photos of the cabins but lighting not that good and the new timber was very very dark
That night for dinner cocktails were service with a snack before dinner thought I’d share the cocktail of the day recommending NOT to have. It I bet you can guess why ? Definitely not my favourite
